Thankyou to everyone - 2015
Another great Medieval Fayre on Sunday 25th of October- the 2nd Fayre run by The York
Friendship Club Inc. Held this year on 2 venues, Peace Park Market Area and the ‘Village’ set up behind the ‘Carriage Diner’.
The weather held off although the Village became dusty as the squalls went around us. The young Re-enactors took it all in their stride. Circle of the Sword, Darksun and The Grey Co all felt it should be on one venue next year, with more grass, toilets and food facilities close by.
We have taken this on board & with shire permission will hold the fayre in Avon Park next year. Our fencing will of course exclude the public toilets and playground. We will need to also use the RV Motor Home parking area.
We appreciate the work done by the Shire workers & Admin which made this year less stressful and the success it was.
The Banquet was a great success & all our profits after expenses will be ($3,000) included for the ‘Homeless’. We took $4,000 on the village gate totalling $6,500 plus our ladies raised another $1,000 from our usual sources, monthly markets, op shop-meeting etc. This means we will have $8,000 to donate amongst specific organisations helping the Homeless. (Youth Focus, Salvos, Perth Mission, Swags for the homeless last year etc.) Plus some new groups: Ruah, Northbridge Passages and Australia Red Cross (Homeless).
The parade was a big highlight led by a Clydesdale, 4 trucks, 2 bands, assorted trailers with Belly Dancers & Romans. The dragon held aloft by a dozen school kids, most of which participated in its creation at the dragon art workshop, was an added attraction. Huge thank you to all participants, helpers and patrons.

We have outdone last year’s fundraising efforts by adding the Banquet where we fed over 100 happy people at the Town Hall. Great entertainment with Belyssa’s Belly Dancers who gave a full cabaret show and the 1960’s Rock Band ‘Moonlighters’ were a lively finish to the Saturday Night!
Financial details will be in the next paper and thanks to the Community Matters for great coverage!
Well done everyone!
